The Friendship Force of Greater Milwaukee

THE FFGM CLUB

Established in 1990, our club is approaching its 20 year anniversary.  We average about 140 members who believe in sowing the seeds of friendship across the barriers that may divide us. Since 1989 our active members have participated in bridge-builders, missions, conferences and outbound exchanges to Australia, Africa, Cuba, Europe, the Far East, the Middle East, Latin and South America. Groups from Australia, China, Cuba, Germany, Korea, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Scotland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and some within the United States, have visited us to have the Milwaukee experience.

Our members, who live in Milwaukee and the surrounding communities are of diverse backgrounds and professions. With ages ranging from 30 to 80, the club members have many interests, talents and lots of enthusiasm. Primarily, we are adventurers who enjoy traveling to new places around the world forging new friendships. 

YOU ARE INVITED

Consider participating with us either on an exchange abroad or possibly engaging in the many Milwaukee-area activities during the hosting of Friendship Force ambassadors. Whatever your choice, you will have many rewarding and memorable experiences while learning the value of cultivating friendships with people throughout the world.  

The destination countries of future outbound exchanges are announced to members months in advance.  Each prospective Ambassador goes through an interview process before the final selection is made.  Workshops provide opportunities to learn about the culture, history, geography and possibly the language of the country to be visited.  The hosting club provides us with a planned program of diverse activities for an unforgettable experience within another culture.

For inbound exchanges, home hosts are interviewed and selected after informational workshops are scheduled.  Hosts are provided with details of their responsibilities.  Great effort is made to design a program that will give each Ambassador a unique experience within our community, an understanding of our culture and an opportunity to foster new friendships.   

If you come as an Ambassador to Milwaukee, you will have a full range of fun-filled activities that will begin with a welcome event and end with a farewell party in the true spirit of friendship. Your visit will include visits to regional sights, interactive events and intimate gatherings.  You'll have opportunities to enjoy the local cuisine. You'll experience midwestern friendliness as enthusiastic friends-to-be welcome you to their hearts and homes! 

Milwaukee is known for "Gemuetlichkeit", (friendliness), so consider this  "Great Place on a Great Lake" for a most unique experience!
