About Diversity Dinners
Initiative
After a long and successful history of reaching out to people around the world, Friendship Force of Greater
Milwaukee recognizes that barriers exist right here in Milwaukee. We are sponsoring the innovative yet simple concept of Diversity Dinners. Groups will be formed of approximately 10 people (pairs and singles) with very different backgrounds, interests, races and beliefs. Participants will agree to meet as a group every 4-6 weeks for rotating potluck dinners at member’s houses. Since everyone is bringing part of the meal and everyone helps with cleanup, no one person is stuck doing all of the work.
Diversity Dinner
participants have conversations about the important issues of our time including sociological and psychological, political and economic, philosophical and religious. The discussions will enable each person to air and develop their
own viewpoint. Participants are encouraged to be open minded and willing to listen in an effort to get to know their fellow participants in a nonjudgmental environment. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. The goal isn’t to
convert or to reach consensus but to strive to understand. The result will be fascinating and enlightening discussions plus new friendships in the community.
Feel free to contact any member of the Diversity Dinner Committee with questions, concerns or comments. We value your input.
